I was thinking about some of the questions I have received over the years when people that either did not know that pointing labs existed or knew but are not really "believers" and have may have even said things like ..... you are just teaching them to point and .... when you breed for pointing, you are reducing the retrieving instinct in the dogs.   Not trying to start one of those controversial posts here (I really don't even like posting at all)...   but that made me wonder about something...

How many APLA dogs do we have that have achieved the highest level titles in all three organizations: APLA, HRC and AKC... specifically 4X + HRCH + MH?

I know there would be a lot more with GMPR + HRCH + MH, which is also very relevant, but, just to make the task shorter, I am looking for the 4X + HRCH + MH.

Below is the list that I have compiled so far, but I know there must be more.

(Note: the list is arranged by order of APLA ID#)

1 4XGMPR HRCH Bar None's Snake River Otter MH QAA
2 4XGMPR HRCH Raider's Jumpin Jack Flash MH MN Hall of Fame
3 4XGMPR HRCH Black Forest Bear Grits MH
4 4XGMPR HRCH Cypress Creek Harleys Ms Mac MH MN Hunter
5 4XGMPR HRCH McNally's Right Stuff Ridley MH
    6 4XGMPR HRCH Medicine Beau's Bairne MH
7 4XGMPR HRCH KB's Snakey Jake of Poudre River MH
8 4XGMPR HRCH Bearpoints Rosco MH
9 4XGMPR HRCH HRK's Rooster Smasher of TGK MH QAA
10 4XGMPR HRCH Hunters Marsh Jack Daniels Bubba Jazz MH
11 4XGMPR HRCH Arrowpoint Kenai Midnight Sun MH
    12 4XGMPR HRCH Medicine Beau's Bailey MH
13 4XGMPR HRCH Lakotas Hurricane Cruz MH
14 4XGMPR HRCH Clouds Bold Bear of Nereus MH
15 4XGMPR HRCH Lankas Labs Brandys Maximillion MH
    16 4XGMPR HRCH Blackjack's Phog Allen MH

If you know of any, please add them with a reply to this post.  Thanks!

Thanks Justin... added Blackjack's Phog Allen to the list above.  Up to 11 now.  I figured out how to do an export of all 4XGMPR's to Excel and found a few more, but, since the non APLA titles are often not added, I suspect there are still more.

OOPS .....Had quite a few 4X GMPR MH to add but they were missing the HRCH.

     Quite the accomplishment. Rarified air.

Yeah.... Definitely don't want to diminish the accomplishments of those dogs that are [4X + MH], or [4X + HRCH] or [GMPR + HRCH + MH] .... by asking this question, as they are all outstanding accomplishments.....  and many of the early dogs (Grits, Hershey, Cajun, Gumbo, Beau to name a few) did not even have the chance to become a 4X's because they ran before it existed...

My real purpose here is just to count how many have been recognized at the highest level by two other retriever organizations, along with the APLA, since the advent of the 4X.

The sad thing about this list is its dominated by males.  Harley is the only female on that list.

Wow!  I had not even made that observation!   I wonder what the driving force is?  I suppose it could be just that people with good males see the potential of many high titles leading to many breedings, where, with a female, its just a few litters and a lot more hassle to raise all the pups, even if more $$.
