WELCOME

The American Pointing Labrador Association (APLA) is excited to announce the hosting of this year’s Fifth Annual Triple Crown Invitational in Fenwick, Michigan.

This event is made possible with the generosity of Jim Sullivan, Ray Vreeland, and Jerry Kamphuis for providing the grounds, and with the help of APLA members in Michigan and across the country.

The Triple Crown is APLA’s marquee national-level event and will feature participants from all over the United States converging in Fenwick on September 5th, 6th, and 7th 2025.

Handlers and their fellow pointing Lab teammates will arrive and train in the area for several days leading up to the event.

These exceptional dog/handler teams are the best in the world and have dedicated their time to training and passing APLA hunt tests all over the country to qualify for the Triple Crown. Judges will evaluate teams according to the APLA standards in retrieving work both in water and on land, as well as in upland performance.

As we prepare for this year’s 2025 Triple Crown event, we are projecting to have over 80 dogs run by both amateurs and professionals. All the tests will be run on the beautiful Fenwick properties. APLA members and their families will be volunteering a large amount of time and energy to ensure the event runs smoothly.
